SlÍ Nua will give people, regardless of age, personal political connections, social status or educational background a chance to get involved in the debate. It will encourage critical thinking and development of practical solutions to modern social and economic challenges in Ireland.
Empowering people through constructive debate
Politics in Ireland is largely reserved, through various mechanisms for people who have a family connection to a party or an elected representative or get involved in student or workers unions. For most, the political world is strange and intimidating place where there is little outlet in the real world for discussion and the online space is dominated by trolls and keyboard warriors.

SlÍ Nua is a debating club based in Ireland. We will provide a platform for our members to grow and develop political and debating skills
The purpose of the Club is to:
- Foster respectful and informed political discourse.
- Encourage the development of critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentation skills.
- Provide a platform for members to explore diverse political perspectives.
- Promote civic awareness and engagement within the community.
Membership
Membership is open to all individuals who:
- Open to Persons of age 18 and over
- Share an interest in political debate and discourse.
- Abide by the principles of respectful and inclusive dialogue.
- Are willing to actively participate in club meetings and events.
- Demonstrate ability to apply critical thinking
- Attend an interview
